PicoLo Laser Singapore

What is PicoLo laser treatment?

PicoLo is a type of Picosecond laser treatment that targets skin conditions such as hyperpigmentation, acne scars and wrinkles. As a laser that comes with different wavelengths (532nm-1064nm), the PicoLo laser is CE-approved to remove tattoos for all skin types in a safe and effective way. Unlike conventional fractional lasers, Picosecond laser technology delivers energy pulses at short intervals – this greatly reduces the risk of damage to surrounding skin cells or post-treatment pigmentation.

Why PicoLo laser?

PicoLo is the latest treatment in the market that offers all the benefits of laser treatments in a shorter time. Unlike its pico predecessors, PicoLo uses a more advanced wavelength technology and delivers results in fewer sessions.

Some benefits to look forward to include:

• 50% clearance of pigmented lesions in just two treatments

• Significant improvements in acne scars and wrinkles

• Safe removal of difficult-to-remove tattoo colours, such as blue and green

• 15-20 minutes treatment

• Fast, quick recovery

• Immediate results

• Younger-looking skin

• Improved complexion

How does PicoLo laser work?

PicoLo laser is an effective treatment that breaks up tattoo ink particles and skin pigmentation (dark spots) below the skin’s surface (epidermis). This process creates smaller particles that are cleared by the body to fade the pigments on the skin.

The PicoLo laser comes in two modes:

• PicoLo Resolve

Split-beam treatment that delivers 101 evenly-spaced, identical beams for uniform treatment. For acne scars, wrinkles and benign pigmented lesions.

• PicoLo Resolve Fusion

Split-beam treatment that comes with Fusion technology – high fluence central beam generates Laser Induced Optical Breakdown (LIOB), low fluence diffuse ring enhances coverage area by up to 50%, saving treatment time for pigmented lesions and reducing the risk of PIH. Suitable for benign pigmented lesions for all skin types.

Apart from the obvious scar and mark reduction, because the PicoLo laser also stimulates collagen production in the skin, patients can enjoy the additional benefits of skin rejuvenation and improved complexion.

What conditions can PicoLo laser treat?

PicoLo laser is more commonly used as a pigmentation laser, but it is able to fade unwanted tattoos, age spots, wrinkles and acne scars.

What results can I expect from PicoLo laser?

Patients can expect brighter skin after undergoing a PicoLo laser treatment, with increased firmness and improved skin texture. There may be some redness to the skin for 1 to 2 days, though your skin will return to normal afterwards and begin to heal. It can take about 6 to 8 weeks to see the full effects of PicoLo laser treatments.

How many treatments of PicoLo laser do I need?

The number of treatments required will depend on the patient’s needs, such as whether the treatment is done for tattoo removal or for treating a skin condition. It is recommended that patients looking to resolve acne scars, wrinkles or hyperpigmentation go for 3 to 4 sessions for best results. For tattoo removal, around 6 to 8 sessions over 5-6 months are recommended However, this will also depend on the size and colour of the tattoo.
